After completing the main tradeskill signature quests, you unlock public researcher missions in Raj'Dur Plateaus, Takish Badlands, and Sandstone Delta. You will be unable to fly in any of these overland zones until you complete at least 15 of these research missions (combined -- so for instance, you can do 5 missions for each researcher to unlock flight), or by unlocking flight via the adventurer signature timeline.
For this timeline, the onus of responsibility is on you to establish the Far Seas Trading Company sites. As such, when you initially arrive in a zone there won't be crafting tables and fuel merchants, so be prepared to tote these items around. Common harvests that you are required to harvest during the quests, but aren't used in the crafting, are not listed here.
